Kasseri is a semi-hard, pale yellow cheese produced exclusively in Greece It is made with sheep or a combination of sheep with a small portion of goat milk. With a resilient but firm texture, kasseri needs a minimum of three months to mature. Kasseri has a mild, buttery taste and bears no holes. A bite of Kasseri will enrich your palate with rich, salty flavors and piquant odor. It is a perfect option as a table cheese, in sandwiches, as the main constituent in ‘kasseropita’ pie, or as a ‘saganaki’ (fried cheese). It can also be used as a pizza topping.
